Show ! Pleasant Grove Locals ! i Mrs. George Shoell is seriously ill at her home in Lindon. Vera Monson and Arthur Birrell of Salt Lake City, were guests Friday of Mr. and Mi's. Leland Beers. Mrs. Myrtle Green left last Sunday Sun-day for Logan to attend the school for 4-H Club leaders. She expects to stay until Saturday evening. Mrs. Phyllis Burnham James of Reno, Nevada, has been visiting the past three weeks with her mother, Mrs. Amelia Burnham. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Baxter are moving to California this week. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Shoell will occupy the rooms made vacant by the Baxter Bax-ter family in the Lindon ward. C. S. Vance of Provo, and Miss Gennieve Fugal, who is teaching at Nephi, were among the crowd at the Gold and Green Ball Friday evening. eve-ning. J. O. Clark is spending the week with his mother, Mrs. , J. O. Clark. He will return to Twin Falls, Idaho, on Friday to resume his work at Radioland. Mrs. E. W. 'Robbins and baby Colleen, and Roena Judd were weekend week-end visitors at the home of J. H. Adams. They returned home Monday Mon-day night. Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Robbins have been visiting for the past week with Joseph H. Adams. Mr. Rob-bins Rob-bins has recently been transferred from Rexburg, Idaho, to Lehi and they will stay here until they get located. H. W. Jacobs was one of the speakers at the annual meeting of the Utah State Horticultural society held Thursday at the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake. His subject was "The Possibilities of the Utah' Cold Pack for Fruits and Vegetables." The officers and teachers of the Third ward M. I. A. entertained Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Macfarlane in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Dewavpe Anderson who left Monday to make their home in Oregon. The evening was spent in games and social chat. Delicious refreshments were served. Next Tuesday evening the Timpanogos Timp-anogos stake M. I. A. officers will have charge of the Lindon ward M. I. A. They will give the preliminary program and conduct the class work. Elder Don C. Pierce of Salem, called at the home of Bishop and Mrs. C. J. Cobbley Wednesday while enroute home from the Western States Mission. He will be the principal speaker at the Lindon ward sacrament meeting Sunday evening, March 10th. Mr. J. H. Adams passed his seventieth seven-tieth milestone on Friday, February 22nd, and in honor of this event his family met at his home and prepared pre-pared a delicious birthday dinner for him. Those of his family present pres-ent were: Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Rob-bins Rob-bins and family, Rexburg, Idaho; Mrs. Errol Robbins, Cottonwood; Dr. and Mrs. G. S. Richards and Mrs. Junius Adams and daughter of American Fork; Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Adams and family, George Adams and Mrs. J. O. Clark of Pleasant j Grove, and Miss Roens Judd of Oak-I Oak-I ley, Idaho. His daughter, Pearl, j Oakley, Idaho, was not present but sent greetings. A group of close associates of Mrs. James E. Nelson (formerly Margaret j Whittingham) will give a shower to-1 to-1 night (Friday in her honor at the home of Reva and Mary Jense. Progressive Pro-gressive games and a delicious lunch are planned for the occasion. ' Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Walker were guests of Logan friends last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. John S. Green of Mills, Utah, are visiting relatives here. Mrs. E. M. Barnes of Lehi was the guest of her daughter, Mrs. C. R. Clark, Tuesday. Mrs. Marion Adamson is home from the L. D. S. hospital and reports re-ports that she is feeling fine. A. J. Lewis of Salt Lake was the guest Tuesday of his sister, Mrs. Mary Cooper. Mrs. Martha Bullock and her son, Orson Bullock, are seriously ill at their home. Mrs. Flora Nielson is seriously ill with asthma and other, complications. complica-tions. Mr. and Mrs. J. Edward Bush of Salt Lake City, were here Sunday to attend the Bush program given by the Daughters of the Pioneers. J. O. Clark employed at Twin Falls, Idaho, spent part of the past week with his mother, Mrs. Roena Clark. Clesta and Edna Gillman spent the past week in Roosevelt with their father, Vern Gillman. The Misses Neva Ash and LaRue Gillman left Monday evening for Barstow, California, where they will be employed. The Second ward Primary officers and teachers entertained at a dancing danc-ing party Thursday evening at the Second ward Amusement hall. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Robertson and Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Thorne were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Grenig of Salt Lake City Sunday evening. Mrs. Grace Nielson Beers and baby of California are guests of their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Flora Nielson. A telegram called Mrs. Beers to her mother's bedside. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jense visited with relatives in Salt Lake City from Thursday night until Sunday night of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lawerence Peterson and family attended the funeral of Daniel Lamb, a brother of Mrs. Peterson, Pet-erson, at Wales, Sanpete Co. Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Nielson of Wyoming, were called to Pleasant Grove the first of the week on account ac-count of the serious illness of Mr. Nielson's mother, Mrs. Flora Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Johnson were all ready to move to Nephi so Mr. Johnson could accept a position there, when he received a better position in Salt Lake City and they moved to Salt Lake last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Lim were Salt Lake visitors Sunday their granddaughter, LuAna Lim, accompanied accom-panied them. They were guests of Mrs. Grace Lim Sorenson and family. fam-ily. Mrs. C. L. Wright was taken to the L. D. S. hospital last Friday and underwent a very serious operation. She is doing as well as could be expected ex-pected but is still in a serious condition. condi-tion. Burton Tiffney of Oregon visited Wednesday with his sister, Mrs. William Deveraux. He had not seenj his sister for thirty years. While he was a guest here Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Andrews of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Zene Tiffney, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tiffney, Mr. and Mrs.! Orval Tiffney all relatives of Salem,' came to Pleasant Grove to visit with Mrs. Deveraux and Mr. Tiffney of Oregon. Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Kemp, Mr. and Mrs. Carneluis Matthews andj Miss Mildred Frampton returneel Thursday of last week from a two' weeks' motor trip to California, j While there they visited with Mr. ! and Mrs. Clark Nelson at Monrovia. I Mrs. Nelson was formerly Winnie ' Kemp of this city and Mr. and Mrs. John Matthews, Mr. and Mrs. La-Verl La-Verl Burns and Mr. and Mrs. John Helton at Guadalupe, Calif., Mrs. i Holton was formerly Hyacinth Burns j of this city. The party came home with a fine report of their trip and the former Pleasant Grove people they visited while there. |
