Veteran tennis players of the city declare that we have some very fine material in our younger players and if they could be given the opportunity opportuni-ty deserved, would promise to give American Fork a name in this sport-There sport-There has been some talk of forming form-ing a tennis association, for the purpose pur-pose of fostering tournaments, to interest and develop the younger players. There is great need of such an association, which could put over a city tennis court on one of the many suitable sites in the city. Several years ago, Glade Line-baugh Line-baugh of Pleasant Grove, won the Intermountain Junior championship, bringing honors to his home town. With such remarkable ability as we have here, in our youngsters, is there any reason why American Fork should be left so completely behind in this sport? We've made a good start this summer sum-mer and a really commendable thing would be for someone to back-up this association idea and form a tennis club gefore- the summer is over. Let's get going. |
