Show puon Bones Shed Light on Earliest Americans A spot In northern Colorado whore Smithsonian Institution scientists discovered ancient animal bones Is believed to be the oldest habitation site la America, says I'athlinder Magazine. The bones have been Identified as those of a species of bison which are thought to have followed fol-lowed closely upon the receding glaciers gla-ciers of the hist Ice age and to have Inhabited the North American continent con-tinent at the same time as the mysterious mys-terious "Folsom men." These men made odd-looking tools known as Folsom points, which have been found scattered widely over the continent con-tinent and In connection with animal ani-mal bones of great age. More detailed de-tailed evidence of the race, however, has never been found. Scientists are, therefore, looking hopefully to this site with the expectation that It may throw light upon the nature ami origin of this primitive American. The "Folsom man," ancestor of the American Indian, is believed to have come from Asia. |
