Show U Dell Opens Plans are all complete for the official opening of Mutual Dell which will take place in the form of a tri-stake convention at the Dell tomorrow. Those who have visited in the canyon this past week say it has never been more beautiful than at the present time. The moisture has been sufficient to encourage the growth of the trees and wild flowers and there is water running in the canyon bed which has been very scant during the past few years. At the Dell the lawn, planted early this spring, is up and growing nicely, also -the shrubs which were planted around the grounds, show every sign of taking permanent root. The inside has not been forgotten as the kitchen has been painted and a new heating system installed that insures plenty of hot water. New curtains have been hung throughout the building and some benches made to accomodate the ever increasing crowds attending the evening programs. pro-grams. For the boys there have been new bunks made and excellent straw ticks for eyery bed. The Forest Service have been contacted con-tacted and it is hoped that before this season is over, with their aid, work will be begun on the amphitheatre, amphi-theatre, swings and other outside equipment for the enjoyment of the ward members while at the camp. H. Alva Fitzgerald of Lehr has accepted ac-cepted the position of caretaker and he has been deputized, by the county sheriff, with full jurisdiction over all those camped on the Dell flat. All campers will be required to live up to the regulations that govern those camped on the grounds. The Timpanogos stake will be the first at the Dell and Manila ward going Monday, June 24th. The other oth-er wards will go on the dates as follows: Pleasant Grove Second, June 27; Lindon, July 1st; Pleasant Grove Third, July 4th; Windsor, July 8th; and Pleasant Grove First, July 11th. Lehi stake Lehi First ward will go to the Dell July 15th with the other wards as follows: Lehi Second, July 18; Third, July 25; Fifth, July 29; and Cedar Valley, August 1. The wards of the Alpine 'stake will observe Sunday at the Dell as they have done the past two years. The Highland ward will enter the Dell August 5 th and return the morning of the 8 th when the First ward will take possession. The Second ward will go August 12th; Third, August 15th; Fourth, August 19th; and Alpine Al-pine will enter the Dell August 22nd and stay until the closing of the camp immediately after August 24th. |
