Show Insurance Man Killed By Truck at Orem Mrs. Florence Fox and Mrs. Olive Thorpe, Spanish Fork, and Pratt Peterson and Mrs. Edith Christiansen Christian-sen of Provo. Funeral services will be held today (Friday) at 1 p. m. at the Ephraim West ward under direction of Bishop P. C. Peterson, -a brother, and interment inter-ment will be made in Ephraim cemetery. ceme-tery. n : Lawerence Ray Peterson, 50, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove insurance man, died at a Provo hospital Tuesday at 8:05 p. m., of injuries received a few minutes min-utes earlier, when he was struck by a truck, allegedly driven by Sid Redmond of Salt Lake City, on the state highway in Orem. Redmond was exonerated by Sheriff Sher-iff E. G. Durnell, who investigated. A second truck and a passenger car were indirectly involved in the accident, Sheriff Durnell said. The car, driven by Miss Mary Louise Winters of Provo, north-bound, stopped on the road to offer Mr. Peterson a ride. The second truck, following directly di-rectly behind the Winters machine, swerved to the left to avoid the car, and Redmond's truck, following third, was swerved to the right to avoid striking the truck ahead. Redmrmd struck Mr. Peterson, who was running along the side of the road toward the Winters machine. Mr. Redmond told Sheriff Durnell that he was unable to stop when the Winters .car and the other truck ' stopped suddenly, and he did not see ( Mr. Peterson until he was directly on him. j Mr. Peterson was bom March 2, ; 1885, at Ephraim, the son of Peter C. and Louise Nelson Peterson. He I lived the greater part of his life .in Ephraim, moving to Pleasant Grove in June. He married Nancy Lamb of Wales, , Sanpete county, October 5, 1916. He was an active worker in the L. D. S. church and filled a mission to England Eng-land in 1909 and 1910. I Mr. Peterson is survived by his j widow and four children, Lawrence .Richard, John Ray, Robert, Don C. I and Mary Louise Peterson, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Sarah D. Jensen, Mrs. Lillian Peterson, Peter-son, Mrs. Cornelia Dahlsurd and P. !c. Peterson, all of Ephraim; Mrs. ; Louise Hampton, Salt Lake City |
