Show Kay E. Dillman Speaks at A. F. Ray E. Dillman of Duchesne, Re-publican Re-publican candidate for Governor of the state of Utah, spoke to a large crowd of citizens gathered in the City Hall Saturday evening at a rally arranged by the local Republican Republi-can committee., j Mr. Dillman talked against such organizations as the W. P. a., etc. stating that they are breaking the moral fibre of our people. He spoke of graft in the government, bringing bring-ing out as an illustration overpaid attorneys. He spoke of the commercialized com-mercialized voters, bringing out several instances where Democratic employees were forced to pay campaign cam-paign fees, or fear the loss of their respective positions and jobs. Mr. Dillman states, that if elected, he will work for the protection of Utah's wild life and natural resources re-sources and proposes' to see that the state's wild life resources are not controled by the biological survey, or any other federal agency, beyond the point of necessary cooperation. Local Chairwoman Mrs. James Tattersall, presided over the meet- ing. I. E. Brockbank of Provo, former county Republican chairman, chair-man, instructed, the state candidates and the county candidates were introduced in-troduced by Maurice Hardy of Provo. Provo. Candidates present were Elias Hansen, candidate for justice of the supreme court; M. B. Pope, and Milan', Straw, candidates for judge of the Fourth Judicial District; Niel Dahle, candidate for four-year term county rommission-er; rommission-er; J. E. Chadwck, candidate for two-year term county commissioner; S. I. Goodwin, Mrs! Pearl Bigler and Mrs. Lucy Slaugenhoup, candi-Citf candi-Citf Hall Friday 'night. Ed M. Rowe, county Republican chairman and Mrs. Sherman Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, state Republican chairwoman, chairwo-man, were also present. Several fine musical numbers were given. |
