Show Local Items Mrs. Glen Simms and son of West- wood, Calif., left last week for their home after visiting for three weeks at the home of Mrs. Simms' parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Sager. Miss Amy Shelley is working this week at the office of the Utah Power Pow-er and Light Company at Lehl while the office girl there is on vacation. Glen Baker is , in charge of the American Fork office during Miss Shelley's absence. I o Mrs. George Taylor of Salt Lake visited the past week at the home of her sister, Miss Leona Kelly. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Greenland have returned to their home here after spending the past six weeks in California where Mr. Greenland has been employed. Mrs. Byron Crookston attended the annual, Spud day celebration at Shelley, Idaho, last Wednesday, and visited until the forepart of this week with Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Crookston at their home there. Mr. and Mrs. John Devey returned to their home here last week after visiting in Los Angeles at the homes of four of their children living there. They report the birth of a baby boy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Mathews, Mrs. Mathews being Miss Amy Devey before her marriage. The boy was born September 27th. Mr. and Mrs. Jhon Sager and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Shelton left Saturday Satur-day for Logandale, Arizona, where Mr. and Mrs. Sager will remain to see if the change of altitude and climate will aid in their recovery from recent illness each has suffered. suf-fered. Miss' Barbara Sager is staying stay-ing at the home of her grandparents, grandpar-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Nicholes, during her parents absence. Mrs. Lillie Wilde entertained at a family dinner Sunday, the guests being her sisters, their children and husbands. Places at table were set for Mrs. J. T. Donaghy and daughters, daugh-ters, Alice and Leona, of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. George Taylor of Salt Lake, Mrs. George Lott and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Phillips of Lehi, Miss Leona Kelly, Mrs. Stanford Wilde and son and the members of Mrs. Wilde's family of this city. Dr. and Mrs. G. S. Richards enr tertained at a dinner party at their home Wednesday evening of last' week for Mrfand Mrs. Chris Jensen and daughter, Beatrice, of Alberta Canada Mrs. Jensen is an aunt to Mrs. Richards, and Miss Beatrice is preparing to- leave- shortly for the mission field. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs: Joseph Adams, George Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Adams, and Mrs. J.-O. Clark of Pleasant Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robbins of Lehi. Mrs. C. A. Grant and Miss Lillie Shatter were joint hostesses to the members of the Junior Literary League at their home Monday evening eve-ning of this week. Mrs. Leo Nelson, president of the club, was in charge of the meeting and after business matters were taken up turned the time over to Mrs. Marrion Green, program hostess. Mrs. Green introduced intro-duced the guest speaker, Mrs. Sadie Bromley, who spoke on the "Proposed "Pro-posed Amendments to the Utah State Constitution, affecting the office of State Superintendent of Public Instruction". They also attended the meeting in the Second ward at which Paul Nicholes spoke. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Chipman and Son, Delbert Ray, and Mrs. Chipman's nephew,. Art kittle, returned re-turned Jast week-end from a trip to Kansas City where Mr.. Chipman , attended to the marketing' of their lambs. After visiting in Kansas City and surrounding communities, they returned home by way of Dallas, Texas, where they attended the Centenial celebration, through New Mexico and home. They also visited at the church historical spots at Independence, Mo. Mrs. J. P. Donaghy and daughters, Alice and Leona, of Oakland, Calif., are making a ten day visit at the home of Mrs. Donaghy's sister, Miss Leona Kelly. Mrs. Stanford Wilde was hostess to the members of the Feality club at her home Thursday afternoon of last week. Bridge was the main diversion di-version at which Mrs. Eldon Chip-man Chip-man and Mrs. Violet Osterloh won the prizes. R. J. Stice, our local Union Pacific agent and operator, is slowly improving im-proving from a major operation he underwent about a month ago in the L. D. S. hospital in Salt Lake.
