Provo 6 0 1.000 Tintic 3 3 .500 Helper 2 4 .333 American Fork 1 5 .167 The American Fork Cavemen wrere lowered to the cellar position in the Central Utah league when the Eureka Miners won both games of a double, header playe'd Wednesday, July 31. The scores were 11-9 and 7-1. Ingersoll Inger-soll and Steadman were the only players to consistently field throughout through-out the day. Miller and Steadman both made sensational catches to liven things up. By winning both games, Tintic is put within striking distance of the second-half pennant, while American Fork, first-half Winners, are lowered to the botton. The game played Sunday, July 28, at Helper resulted in a 14 to 3 victory vic-tory for Helper. The Helper club had one big inning inn-ing off Ad'die Miller, scoring 10 runs on 10 hits and 3 errors. Miller, the league's leading pitcher during the first half of the season, had 18 hits banged off him, including four home runs. Two triples and three doubles added to the parade. American Fork, however, used a patched up lineup, due to the absence of Bennett, Durrant, Ingersoll an'd Barratt, four outstanding players of their aggregation. Brasher, star Helper pitcher, held the Cavemen comipletely in check, allowing only seven hits. American Fork is out to get revenge re-venge with Eureka, Sunday, August 4, in a double-header program. Townspeople are urged to support the games and help bring the local nine to a better position in the league standing. Next Wednesday, August 7, Helper invades the Cavemen. "Hap" Holm-stead's Holm-stead's crew are also out to revenge them- Everyone support the games. |
