A.v ' L' ie- j Holclaway Brothers Beet Field At Vineyard. The above picture shows a five acre beet field located at Vineyard. The land was fall plowed and harrowed in the customary manner and a good seed bed was prepared. On April 20, the soil was planted to beets. The beets have been cultivated five times, irrigated once and the present stand shows 90 beets to the 100 feet. This five acre tract of land grew a good crop of tomatoes in 1926 and 1927. In 1928 half was planted to onions and the other half to potatoes making mak-ing a splendid rotation for beets this year. Indications are that this will make a twenty ton crop or better this year.
