Show The Bee Orchis Ladies will be guests of Mrs. Bay Ellison this afternoon at her home, it being the , ' regular meeting of the club. Mrs. Vem Beck, Mrs. Sam Walker Walk-er and Miss Shirley Beck spent Wednesday afternoon in Provo visiting vis-iting with Mrs. Beck's sister, Mrs. Melvin Reynolds. The Bee Hive class of Mrs. Sam Walker, formerly Miss Afton Beck, a recent bride, with their other teacher. Miss Violet Preston, pleasantly pleas-antly surprised Mrs. Walker last evening at her home. Games were enjoyed during the evening and a delicious lunch was served. J Miss Mary Ashby, with a com-, panion school teacher, Miss Mary Mattison of Salina, left by auto late last week for a trip along the Pacific coast. They will motor though California and on up through Washington and Oregon, down the Columbia River higjhway and on into Yellowstone Park. , i Am. Fork Locals Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shafter and sons, Frank and John, spent Saturday Satur-day here with relatives. Mrs. Jennie Tanner spent from Friday to Sunday in Salt Lake visiting visit-ing with relatives and friends. Charles and Leona Kelly were in Provo Sunday in attendance at the funeral of Mrs. William Goodman. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Searle spent Saturday and Sunday in Salt Lake with Mrs. Searle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Chase and son Dick of Salt Lake were Sunday visitors here with Mrs. W. A. Robinson Robin-son and Miss Bessie Robinson. i i I Mr. and Mrs. Merrit Norton of Provo attended the graduation exercises exer-cises of the high school here Friday night. Their son, D. E. Duncan of Salt . Lake, formerly of this city, announce the birth of a great-grandson, born I to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Steggel at j the Holy Cross hospital on May 5th. Mother and babe are reported doing fine. ! Mr. 'and Mrs. Leon Whipple and son of Ogden, motored down and spent the week-end here with Mrs. Emma Foster and family. Mrs. Whipple and child remained to spend the week and Mother's Day here. Miss Velma Shelley, who has been , teaching school in Blanding, Utah, jhas returned home to spend the summer months here with her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Joseph D. Shelley. Miss Shelley taught in the high school there and has been a faculty member mem-ber of the school for the past three years. The recent marriage of Mrs. Sam Walker, formerly Miss Afton B3ck, j was the motif for a delightful show-: er party given by several girl friends at the home of Miss Ber- j niece Wilde last Saturday evening. The hostesses besides Miss Wilde were Mrs. Lois B. Searle, Miss Grace Walker and Miss Christine Ramsay. The entertaining rooms were decorated dec-orated in a color scheme of pink and white, which colors also predominated pre-dominated in the lunch. Games were played, Miss Irene ' Johnston being the prize winner of , the evening Later a tasty lunch was served. Mrs. Walker was presented pre-sented with a number of handsome ( gifts, and countless good wishes. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Seastrand motored to that place for their daughter and enjoyed a few days visit there. Miss Georgia Lee left Saturday for her home in Pocatello, Idaho, after a short visit here with Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Grant and family. Mrs. Robert Brown and small daughter of Spanish Fork are spending this week here with Mrs. Brown's parents, Mr. and Mi's. L. A. Adamson. Albert Cheever and daughter Elaine spent last week here with Mr. Cheever's mother, Mrs. Ann Cheever. Mrs. Cheever and son Jay joined Albert here Friday and spent the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Firmage and family and Misses Gwen McGrew and Fern Greenwood left Saturday for Long Beach, California, to enjoy a visit of about two weeks. Mrs. George Moss entertained the Variety Club last Thursday afternoon. after-noon. Bridge was played, three tables being in progress. The prizes were won by Mrs. Kenneth Brown, Mrs. Sherman Robinson and Mrs. C. A. Grant. Special guests were Mrs. Sherman Robinson, Mrs. Glen Robinson Rob-inson and Mrs. Kahn. A delicious lunch was served at the small tables. "" Miss Bonna Ashby is enjoying a week's visit in Sandy with Mr. and Mrs. Edwin R. Kimball and family. fam-ily. Mr. and Mrs. Al. Beckstead and daughter of Lark, visited in American Amer-ican Fork Sunday with Mr. - and Mrs. Willis Fredricks. Mrs. John H. Miller will entertain enter-tain the Sorosis Club at her home this afternoon (Friday). All members mem-bers are asked to be present. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Ashby of Tre-monton, Tre-monton, spent last week-end here with Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ashby and family. Miss Eda Ashby accompanied accompan-ied them back to Tremonton and is spending the week there. Edward R. Gaisford, linotypist in the Citizen plant, had the misfortune misfor-tune to sprain his left ankle the Snape, Dorothy Adamson, Violet Preston, Mary Basinger, of this city; June Smith, Eleanor Harmon and Phyllis Webb of Lehi. Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotte, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Iverson, were visitors in the capitol city Saturday. They visited during the afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. J. H.' McCurl. Mrs. J. M. Anderson visited in Lehi at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Suel Bushman Tuesday. The special spec-ial attraction was a new baby boy born to the Bushmans last Friday. Harvey Greenwod of Belle Pour-che, Pour-che, South Dakota, motored to American Pork last week and is visiting indefinitely with relatives here and in Idaho. At the present he with his sister-in-law, Mrs. W. R. Greenwood, are visiting in Black-foot, Black-foot, Idaho. He will return here before leaving for South Dakota. Stella Greene left for Los Angeles An-geles Sunday morning for a two weeks visit. Mrs. L. T. Greene of Salt Lake is accompanying her on the trip. Joseph K. Nicholes, now president presi-dent of Dixie Junior College, St. George, will be a member of the B. Y. TJ. faculty. Mr. Nicholes will be assistant professor of chemistry at the university. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nicholes of this city and has a host of friends here who will be glad to learn the news. Miss Dorothy Adamson, a bride of the near future, gave a trousseau tea yesterday afternoon at her home. One hundred tweny-five friends and relatives were bidden and called between the hours of two and five p. m. Miss Adamson was assisted in receiving by her mother, Mrs. L. A. Adamson. Her sister, Mrs. Robert Brown of Spanish Span-ish Fork was in charge of the serving serv-ing of the refreshments. A pink and white color scheme was used in the dining room, sweet peas being be-ing also effectively used. A birthday party for Mrs. William Will-iam J. chadwick of this city was gliven last Sautrday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Wood in Salt Lake City. Dinner was served at eight o'clock. Each lady was presented with a carnation carnat-ion as a favor and the dinner table was centered with a lovely birthday cake trimmed with roses. Following, Follow-ing, dinner games were enjoyed. The guests were: Mr. and Mrs W. J. Chadwick, .Mr. and Mrs James Spratlgy, Mr. and Mrs. W D. Miss LaPriel Myers entertained Monday night in compliment to Miss Dorothy Adamson who Is to be married soon.
