Show Fifty-Four. Stud- , ents Graduate ; The high school auditorium was packed to capacity to witness the graduating exercises of fifty four students Friday evening. The girls in their colorful gowns and the well j dressed young men filled the hearts cf proud parents with joy as they marched onto the stage to receive , their diplomas from sehool board j member, A. H. Lowe, after the i recommendation for graduation by Principal A. P. Warnick. Durmg the exercises school awards were made to a large number of students. Those receiving school awards are as follows: Gold Award Jean Smith, Calvin Swenson, Warren Kirk, Lee Gourley and Ross Brinley. I Silver Award Letha Walker, Jack Spencer and Carl Pack. 1 Bronze Award Ruth Walker, La-Preal La-Preal Walker, Cecil Bullock, Harry Louder, Narvel Driggs, Mary Adams, Phyllis Wadley and Edna Fugal. The special awards given by interested in-terested citizens showing the hearty cooperation of townspeople and their interest in the activities of the high school, were as follows: Mrs. May Grua gave an award' in English Achievement to Jean Smith; Instrumental Instru-mental music award given by A. R. Overlade, a former high school music director, to Elda Neves, who recently won first place in the state high school music contest; C. R. Clark, a former basketball star of the high school, presented a basketball award to Rex Gourley; George L. Smith, a former high school student and interested in-terested patron presented a track award to Elmer Foutz, who won third place in the recent state high school meet; Dr. C. O. Jensen presented pre-sented a football award to Harry Louder; Miss Arvilla Clark presented the Girls Athletic Achievement award to Letha Walker and Mrs. Jewel Linebaugh Berge presented the Interpretative Reading award to Eva Marie Conway. |
