Kirk left Wednesday by auto for a trip to the World's Fail-. j Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frampton, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Matthews, Mr. and Mrs. John Matthews, Mrs. Marion Adamson and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Matthews enjoyed a Sunday outing , at Adamson's sheep herd: in Strawberry Straw-berry valley. Mrs. Albert Bachus and family and Mr. Alma Wilkinson and family entertained at a miscellaneous shower show-er Friday evening at the Vineyard jhall in honor of the marriage of Bernice Bachus and Dix Wilkinson. The evening was spent in. dancing. Delicious refreshments were served. Two hundred guests were present. Lyean Johnson was operated on at the L. D. S. hospital Wednesday for double hemia. His parents, Mr. and j Mrs. Erving Johnson and his wife, Sytha Johnson, accompanied him to! the hospital. His wife will remain in Salt Lake during the time Mr. -Johnson is in the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Lawerence Olpin and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Cullimore left by auto, Thursday morning for New York where Mr. Olpin and Mr. Cullimore Culli-more will attend school. They will see the World's Fair at Chicago and other places of interest enroute to their destination. . - Mrs. J. T. Wright entertained Monday evening inl honor of the marriage of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Swen-'son, Swen-'son, who were married in Salt Lake City last Friday. The evening was spent in a program, games and refreshments. re-freshments. Thirty-five members of immediate families were present. Elmer C. Smith of Los Angeles was a guest Friday and Saturday of his sister, Mrs. Horace Mcnson. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Christiansen are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby girl, born Monday. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hilton spent Monday evening at Adamsons sheep herd. Mrs. Martha Johnson and daughter, daugh-ter, Viola, and the Misses Ruth Fage and Thelma Walker motored to Blue Ridge in Uintah County Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Haxland Simmons and baby of Burley, Idaho, are visiting visit-ing with Mrs. Simmons' parents, Bishop and Mrs. C. A. Gamett. .' The Misses Eva Yancey and Margaret Mar-garet Whittingham were guests j Tuesday and Wednesday of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nelson at Provo. i Mrs. Iva Carlson and Miss Norma Smith of American Fork left Wed- ! nesday for a trip to the World's Fair at Chicago. Martin Roack of Salt Lake, was a guest at J. L.' Theobalds Saturday. H. C. Robertson accompanied his brother, R. E. Robertson, and family of Arizona, to Ogden Friday to visit with relatives there. Mr. and Mrs. William Barnes of Draper, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Billings of Los Angeles, Dr. L. W. Jones of Provo, and Ray Attaway of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Miss Beth Blackwell of this city, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Dexter. Dex-ter. Lorin Ronnow returned to his home in Nevada after making a three weeks' trip to the World's Fair and eastern' points with Mr. and Mrs. Karl Banks and family. Mr. and Mrs. John S. Green of Mills, Utah, and their, daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Orin Will-, iams, of Tucson, Arizona, were visit-; ing the past week with Mrs. Eleanor West and other relatives here. James H. Walker was the principal speaker at the Manila ward last Sunday evening. His subject was ! "Joseph Smith the American Prophet". Pro-phet". Clyde Sangren of Provo rendered two piano solos and Edward Ed-ward Sangren of Provo rendered a isolo entitled "O Love Divine". After I the meeting a number of the people visited for an hour at the H. V. Swenson home. Myron Jense acted as chauffeur for his sister, Reva, Miss Helen ! Smith, Miss Helen Weeks and Miss Jennie Anderson of Orem. They enjoyed en-joyed the scenery of Yellowstone Park part of Idaho and Montana,! the cities of Portland, Seattle and Van Couver and along the Columbia through San Francisco arid LoS Angeles While in Los Angeles they visited with Sadie Halliday Williams and George Halliday, formerly of this city. They returned home via Las Vegas, Nevada, and across the desert arriving home Friday after a three weeks' trip. They report a splendid time. Mr and Mrs. William Mac Swa and Mrs. Ruth Markham of Salt. Lake City, and the Misses Marjone Holdaway, Florence Harper and Edna Ed-na Nelson returned rntly from an extensive eastern trip by auto. They first visited the World's Fair at( Chicago and from there they went to Niagara Falls, Montreal and Juebecanada. They then traveU-, ed through the state of Maine to Boston From Boston they went to w York then to Trenton, New; jerIey While at Trenton they visit-ed visit-ed with Elroy Nelson formerly of Sis cty. Then on to Philadelphia,; S tesburg, battlefield, Walton. DC. Mt. Vernon and Arlington, Vir-1 Snia. On the return trip the vSied Kansas City, St. Louis and Denver They report a very enjoyable enjoy-able as well as educational trip. , |
