Show RETURNING MISSIONARY Miss Beth Swenson of Pleasant I Grove has received an honorable release re-lease after serving two years as a ! missionary of the Latter-day Saint j Church. In June, 1931, she left the. iWest for her field of labor, arriving; there the forepart of August. She ' ;was assigned to the Hudson District in the beautiful Hudson valley of New York and labored in the cities ;of Newburgh and Peekskill. There she did active missionary work for! fifteen months before receiving a transfer to the vicinity of Boston, Massachusetts, Four months before her release she was again transferred transfer-red back to New York to finish her mission in the Hudson District. j In bidding farewell to her mission-' ary companions, and friends, Miss Swenson expressed her great delight in having had the privilege to fulfill ful-fill a mission and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. She proved to be a ' splendid missionary and it was with much regret that those remaining in the field bid her good-bye. Miss Swenson was a student of the Brigham Young University at the time she received her call to go upon a mission. She has another year at that institution before graduation ' and she plans to return and obtain her degree. She is majoring in English Eng-lish with the view of teaching after finishing her schooling. 1 |
