Show City Council Convenes Report Made i She is returning: to the West by car with Dr. and Mrs. Howard R. Driggs, former residents of Pleasant Grove. Dr. Driggs is a member of the faculty of the Schoel of Education Educa-tion in the New York University. Ha also has a son who is an instructor in the same university. A stop of a few days will be made in Chicago in order to see the Century of Progress Exposition. Russell Swenson, brother of the returning missionary will be the first member of the family to greet her as he is now doing graduate work at the University of Chicago and he plans to meet her at the Exposition. He will not return West until sometime some-time in October. n ! The City Council convened in regular reg-ular session Saturday evening at 8 P. M. Councilman Niels Pugal was elected Mayor protem. The roll -fill, showed all members present except Mayor Olpin, who was excused. ex-cused. Prayer was offered by Councilman Coun-cilman C. R. Clark. Chairman Clark of the Streets department reported the installation install-ation of one corrigated culvert on the corner of 4th North and Center Street and two wood culverts on 1st West, between 4th and 5th North Streets; also that th? culvert ; on the comer of 1st East and 1st North Street had been lengthened. , Mr. Clark also reported that R. F. C. labor was being used in cutting weeds on streets. ' Chairman Swenson of the Cemetery Ceme-tery and Irrigation department reported re-ported that with the exception of hauling off and burning the rub-! bish from drives, the fall clean-up at the cemetery was complete. Mr. . Swenson also reported that arrange- ments had been made with Mr. Holman for payment of the balance of his irrigation account, also that upon refusal of Mr. Charles Carlson Carl-son to pay balance of his account, the city attorney had been instruct-1 ed to make collection. i Regarding removal of lock placed on gate in Meredith Ditch by Mr. Holman motion was made by Mr. Dickerson, which carried, that the Irrigation company be instructed to place new lock on the gate on Meredith Mer-edith Ditch and if Mr. Holman interferes in-terferes with it, that they take legal action necessary to definitely 1 settle the case. I By motion of Councilman Dick-1 erson the chairman of the City Property committee was authorized to purchase necessary supplies and equipment for the Rest Rooms. j Considerable time was taken up in the discussion and consideration of bids submitted by Dodge and G-; MC dealers for a Fire Truck chas- is. It was finally decided to leave the matter with the City Property committee to call a special session of council, if deemed necessary, for further consideration and action. .
