Show Pleasant Grove Locals 1 George L. Smith made a business trip to Provo on Saturday. Mrs. ChrisLeue Young entertained at a quilting last Friday afternoon. Miss Alda Pyper enjoyed a several days visit with relatives in Heber during the past week. Mrs. R. D. MeKeil and two children child-ren and Mrs. Edna Hill of Payson, were the guests of Mrs. James D. Thome on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Smith' were visiting in American Fork Saturday evening, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Logsdon. Alfred Dexter, who is employed at Carbon county, spent the week-end w ith his family here. Hoyt Allred of California, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Allred, will spend the Christmas holidays in this city with relatives. The following Pleasant Grove friends and relatives attended the funeral of Jasper Yancey at American Ameri-can Fork Tuesday: Mr. and Mrs. Odis Yancey and daughters, Evelyn and Eva, Mr. and Mrs. Melvfn Olsen, Eugene Nelson, Mrs. Martin Peterson, Peter-son, Miss Gennieve Fugal of this city and Martin Kimbor of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Harvey left Saturday for California to spend the winter. They will visit with the following fol-lowing children while there: Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Kellerman at Berkley, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Harvey at San Jose, and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Tyler' at Fresno. They expect to return in the spring. Niels A. Fugal returned home the first of the week from Randolph. Rich county Utah, where he has been the past three months. He has had 1 charge of the Installation of a water system for the city. He completed the water system December 1, and has since put in seven household plumbing jobs. He expects to return to Randolph in the spring and complete com-plete other contracts there. Eldon Brinley of this city will leave Tuesday with' the B. Y. U. basketball squad for California. They will play the U. of C. at Los Angeles on Saturday, December 21, and a second game wath the W. C. L. A. on Monday, after which the Pacific Coast Athletic Club and the San Bernardino Junior College will be met. The boys will see the Rose Bowl gridiron classic between the University of Southern California and Pittsburgh while there. On their return re-turn route they will stop off at St. George and play the Dixie College, and also meet the Snow1 College team of Ephraip. The evening was spent in games and music, after which a dainty tray lunch was served. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Smith had as their Sunday guests the following children, grandchildren and friends: Mr. and Mrs. Orval Smith and daughter, daught-er, Loraine, Mrs. Logan Butler and son, Edwin, Mrs. Edward Smith all of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Will-ard Will-ard Smith and daughter, Helen, of American Fork; and Mr. and Mrs. John C.
