Show Ten Years Ago Now The two one-act plays presented in the First ward chapel Tuesday evening by the Recreation committee commit-tee made a big hit. The house, which was packed to capacity, called for more and more. The entertainment entertain-ment was rich in comedy and tragedy, trage-dy, and had as special features between be-tween acts some splendid musical selections and readings of the highest high-est type. Ten Years Ago Now Boy Scout Annicersary Week was celebrated all over the world from February 5th to 12th inclusive. An outline schedule was sent to each district showing the week's program of activities to be carried out by the various troops. The outline was carried car-ried out almost to perfection in this district under the able supervision of district commissioner, Clarence A. Grant, and the respective troop masters. Ten Years Ago Now Playing spectacular basketball, Pleasant Grove completed the first half of the Alpine season without a defeat by winning from American Fork 54 to 26, last Friday night on the local floor. Ten Years Ago Now At the regular board meeting of the Alpine district on Tuesday the clerk was authorized to deposit $15,000 as a sinking fund to entire bonds when they become due. The amount is to be divided equally between be-tween the four banks in the district. Ten Years Ago Now The Cambrian Concert artists which performed here Monday night in the Alpine Stake Tabernacle completely com-pletely won over the large and appreciative ap-preciative audience which had turned turn-ed out to hear them. Their program was an exceptionally varied one consisting con-sisting of organ solos by the noted William Ifor Janes, baritone solos by Glanville Davies, a baritone of few equals, selections by Jeanette Christine, Chris-tine, soprano of astounding technique, techni-que, and vocal ducts by the two Welsh singers. Hansen since the date of its opening, has recently been purchased purchas-ed by Mr. Elmer Bate. |
