Care should be taken to use only I a reliable product, such as that dispensed dis-pensed by licensed veterinarians, who, according to the state law, are the only persons authorized to administer ad-minister live-virus vaccines, Dr. Madsen warns. In deciding to use the vaccine, however, it should be remembered, says Carl Frischknecht, assistant extension ex-tension poultryman, that chickens cannot be immunized against a disease without actually giving them a mild case of the disease. A live virus is needed to produce immunity and some of the birds may become carriers. Once the live virus has been brought onto the premises it may be necessary to vaccinate annually ann-ually thereafter. o Director William Peterson of the U. S. A. C, is attending a Western Directors meeting in Spokane, Washington, Wash-ington, where a full discussion of the Western Wheat problem is being discussed. Word comes from the state office that individual farmers will have a direct tieup with the Federal wheat administration under the plans of the agricultural adjustment adjust-ment act, through local wheat growers' grow-ers' production control associations which will be organized in the near future, according to information received re-ceived at the extension service of the Utah State Agricultural college. These meetings will be called by county agents or by men especially appointed to direct the organization work in counties not served by agents Director William Peterson said. Representatives elected at each of these local meetings by the farmers who decide to cooperate with the reduction re-duction program will consititute the board of directors of the county wheat control association, the organization or-ganization of participatiing farmers which will direct local application of the wheat plan. .This board of directors, direc-tors, or control board, will in turn elect officers, including a president, vice-president, and secretary. The secretary will usually be the county agricultural agent or other man in direct charge of the organization features. An executive committee of three, with the president of the county board of directors serving as chairman, chair-man, will then be elected by the board of directors. This executive committee will function as the allotment allot-ment committee for the county, representing rep-resenting the eintire county adjustment adjust-ment association in dealing with the State and Federal wheat administrations administra-tions and in checking and passing on local matters of administration. The county allotment committee will be the fundamentally important administrative ad-ministrative unit iin the whole plan for applying the wheat reduction program. The organizations will be self-governing. self-governing.
