Show vv ..-.' ., C. C. CNews Mr. Lee Kay, Educational Director of the Utah State Fish and Game Department, presented a technicolor techni-color motion picture lecture at this camp, December 16. The program was divided into two parts on the Fish Culture in Utah and Reptiles of Utah. Repeated encores were made by the 135 enrollees in attendance at-tendance to continue this program. Mr. Kay having talked well over an hour on Conservation of Resources, concluded the program. This instructional in-structional lecture and pictutre was very much appreciated. Chaplain Leon Howley presented a Christmas program to the camp on December 16. This consisted of three vocal solos by Mr. Foster of Salt Lake. Accompanying him on the piano was Mr. Dean Jerritt De-Jong De-Jong of the B. Y. U. Mr. Andrea-son Andrea-son of the Deseret Book Company of Salt Lake gave a talk on "The Other Wise Man" story by Van Dyke. This program was one of the best yet presented at this camp. There were over 135 enrollees at this assembly. Chaplain Hawley conducted this program and offered offer-ed the closing remarks. Captain Whitney, District Inspecting Inspect-ing Officer, was at the Pleasant Grove CCC Camp on Friday of last week.' While here he examined the accounts of the outgoing Company 1965. Several members of the Technical Service of Camp F-43 were in attendance at-tendance at the Forest Service party last Friday evening. They unanimously unanim-ously reported a very enjoyable time. Aside from Engineer Maugh-an Maugh-an throwing the gong on Supervisor's Supervis-or's remarks everything went smoothly, it seems. Dismantling of the American Fork WPA Camp is at present to the stage where all buildings are down to the ground. There remains re-mains one floor and basement left to the last building being razed. Superintendent Thomas has now had transported to him all 'material from the two buildings transferred him. There remains the office building to be transferred intact, if possible, to the Pleasant Grove camp. The semi-trailer from the Salt Lake warehouse has been transporting material from this camp during dismantling work. Several Camp F-43 trucks has been hauling material to the warehouse. The outgoing Company 1965, disbanded dis-banded on December 20, 1937. Coming Com-ing into this camp is Company 3544. expected to arrive December 21 at this camp, for occupancy. Vocational Voca-tional Training interviews will this week be made by the foremen, who will meet with counsel and offer assistance to all the incoming men. ; The purpose of this work is to assist as-sist the new men in adjusting themselves them-selves to the camp. Their aptitudes, experience, education, and interests are all considered toward placing them iu jobs for which they are best suited. It has been found that most enrollees en-rollees react favorably by the interviews, in-terviews, finding their personal qualifications will be given due consideration. It promotes a good spirit at the start. Encouragement is offered the enrollee to avail himself him-self of the opportunities of training while here. Records as to each en-rollce's en-rollce's education, age, place of birth experience, etc. are kept in the Forest. For-est. Service office, along with their profficiency records. This keeps a j progressive record of every man's 1 accomplishments. Ratings are made from the basis of information taken j along with the cnrolleo's showing on : the work project. j |
