The committee also reported that the L. D. S. church would give $500.00 when the hospital is started. Dr. Richards voiced 'himself as not in favor of spending much for remodeling re-modeling or equipment. He recommended recom-mended that the east hallway wall be moved back to give more room for handling of patients. That the kitchen be moved from the front of the building, making four private rooms at. that end, kitchen, operating operat-ing room and utility room to be at the rear of the building. A high pressure cooker will be necessary for the sterilization of instruments, etc., he stated. Dr. Richards offers to loan his instruments in-struments to the icty providing the city will replace them if broken. He also recommended that an anticeptic fee of $5.00 be charged and that it be left in the fund to purchase equipment. The walls throughout the building will need redecorating, linoleums and plumbing firtures repaired and replaced not to exceed a cost of $3000.00. I City officials accepted the recommendation recom-mendation of the committee and appointed ap-pointed a board composed of William Will-iam Storrs, Martin Nielsen, A. F. Gaisford and Leo G. Meredith. The board was instructed to make a quarterly report as to finances and business to the city council. President H. E. McNeill of the American Fork Poultry Association unit reported that the Utah Poultry Association is considering the building build-ing of a modern dressing and refrigeration re-frigeration plant for turkeys and poultry. As yet no decision has been reached as to the location of the plant other than that it would be in Provo or American Fork, he said. He recommended that a committee com-mittee be delegated to meet with the Board of Directors of the Utah Poultry Association at Salt Lake and try to have the plant built in this city. City officials reacted very favorably favor-ably on the matter and appointed Mayor Lloyd B. Adamson to act with President McNeill and Leo G. Meredith Mere-dith and A. F. Gaisford, the latter two representing the Lions Club. Clark Chipman was present representing rep-resenting the Baseball club of American Amer-ican Fork, and asked permission to use the City ball park for the season and for a donation of $25.00 from the city to help the club get started. He also pointed out that the team was badly in need of new suits. Councilman Tregaskis moved that this money be appropriated to help foster the baseball club for recreational recrea-tional purposes. The motion was seconded by Councilman Jorgenson and carried. The matter of suits was referred to the recreational committee. o |
