Show o SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA COMING TO UTAH All arrangements have been concluded con-cluded for the concert of the Philadelphia Phila-delphia Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Leopold Stokowski at the Salt Lake Tabernacle, Tuesday, Tues-day, May 5, at 8:15 p. m. A number of facts make this the most important import-ant concert in intermountain history. his-tory. A total of 103 men will play, the largest and most expert orcherstra ever to appear in the intermountain area. Leopold Stokowski is ranked with Toscanini ;as the most dynamic, colorful yet musicianly conductor in the world. One of the finest programs in the orchestra's repertoria will be played play-ed "The Brahms C Minor Symphony, Sym-phony, No. 1"; "FestivUle at Seville" by Albeniz; "The Submerger Cathedral", Cathe-dral", Debussy; and the "Tristan and Isolde" Love Music, Wagner. Stokowski and his men play the greatest music so that anyone can enjoy it; they never play down to their audiences. |
