Show ALPINENEWS Mrs. Lenard Bates. Reporter I Clyde M. Strong, 35, son of Samuel O. and Fanney A. Deav$ Strong, and j the city marshall of Alpine, passed jaway early Monday morning of peritonitis per-itonitis at a Salt Lake hospital where he was operated upon the Tuesday j previous. I Clyde was born in Alpine, July 4, i 1898, and with the exception of a few years has spent his entire life here where he attended the grade : school and the different organizations organiza-tions of the church. May 2, 1918 he ' was married to Hattie Smith, daughter daugh-ter of Patriarch W. B. Smith, of ; American Fork, in the Salt Lake temple. To this union has been born six children, two sons and four daughters, one daughter having preceded him in death. J He is survived by his wife, his 'parents, and the following children, Fae, Roma, Gwen, Dallas and Samuel, Sam-uel, and by the following brothers j and sisters, Clifford Strong and Mrs. jlra Peterson of Salt Lake, S. D. : Strong of Magna, William J. Strong and Mrs. Grover Clark of Alpine, jand by his grandparents, Mr. and I Mrs. John Devey of Lehi. I Funeral services were being held ! Thursday at 2 p. m. in the Alpine ward chapel with burial to take place . in the Alpine cemetery. Mr. Strong was city marshal for j one year and a half, at the time of ; his death and members of the city council were pallbearers. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Searle and children of Burley, Idaho, were guests tlie past week of Mrs. Searle 's I parents, Mr. and Mrs. William B Smith. Mrs. Waldo Bateman entertained the Happy Dozen at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. The usual activi-jties activi-jties were engaged in after which ja dainty lunch was served. I ' Mvs- Wendell Moyle entertained at f a shower at her home Monday evening eve-ning in honor of Miss Edna Walker ;Of Pleasant Grove who's marriage to Lamar Moyle of this city took place in the Salt Lake temple Wednesday, Wed-nesday, May 31. Miss Walker was ; unable to attend due to an accident .which occurred late that afternoon. I m winch she received several bad i cuts and bruises.
