Show With Our Missionaries I Kelsey, Texas April 19, 1933. I Mrs. J. D. Thorne Reporter Pleasant Grove Review ; Pleasant Grove, Utah. .Dear Mrs. Thorne; i The past two years has been a gre?.t aid to me in many ways. I have been engaged in teaching school a-s a missionary teacher of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a community in the roll- ing hills of east Texas. While my . task has been to fill the require-. require-. ments of a vocational agriculture 1 tc-r.er I have also had many opportunities op-portunities to teach and preach the . gospel. It has been my privilege to be . associated with s-.me of the educated class of people and it thrills me to hear expressions as to their eoncep-: eoncep-: ' tion of God when many of them believe be-lieve much the same as I do; that is that God is a man with superior ! intelligence and is just in his deal-. deal-. ! ings with us. The thinking class of ! people believe in a graduated salva-. salva-. Jtion according to the work done , rather than the conception usually infered by the majority of churches . j today, that we are saved by grace ' alone. Last summer was granted to me the privelege of attending a southern south-ern college, the largest of its kind in the United States. While attending attend-ing the Texas A. and M. College I met many people not of my faith, infact I was the only Morman attending at-tending at that particular time. It fell my lot to explain to a number of the students the principles of our gospel and on many afternoons while not in class I conversed with teachers teach-ers of agriculture on religion and explained to them mormanism as it is not as it is related by outsiders. The most joy and satisfaction of my entire mission has come to me when granted the chance of bearing my testimony to the truth of the ! gospel and in explaining the principles princi-ples on which it is builded. Other joyful and exheading happy moments mom-ents have come to me in the conferences con-ferences when I hear missionaries, mission presidents and other church authorities bear testimony and give valuable instructions to saints as well as missionaries. My companion and I are now checking the mission records of part of the East Texas district and by use of a car which we have purchased purchas-ed it is possible for us to visit a great number of the Saints, get the j desired information as well as hold , cottage, meeting and preach the. gospel. Throughout my mission, whether I teaching, tracting or going to school I have received the Pleasant Grove Review and have thus been in touch with all the happenings that a person per-son does not receive through letters. I wish to express my thanks to you and may you know that I do appreciate ap-preciate having received the Review. May God bless you people of Pleasant Grove and American Fork that you may sence your responsibility responsibi-lity in carrying on this wonderful work. Sincerely Your Brother, ANTON J.
