Show Fire Threatens Canning Plant At about 2:30 p. m. Wednesday afternoon heavy smoke began to rise from the roof of the Pleasant Grove Canning factory. The factory fac-tory was filled with girls and men handling string beans. The cooking cook-ing room was hot from steam within with-in and a fire on the roof without. John Boulter, one of the helpers, sent in an alarm to the fire department. depart-ment. In the meantime the flowing flow-ing well with the electric pumping system was used and the fire department de-partment arrived. A hole about two feet square was burned, amounting to about $25 damage. If the workers had known of the fire much confusion would have resulted. re-sulted.
