Show . o Lions Ask For Traffic Regulation The manace to school children crossing Main and Center streets to and from school created by speeding cars was taken up at the regular meeting of the Lions Club held Thursday night of last week. The meeting was held in the dining hall of the state training school- The Lions were of the opinion that there is altogether too much speed allowed at both places- A report re-port was made by Bishop J. H. Storrs that one of the F-E.R.A. projects pro-jects in the county now is to make under passes across the State high- ,c - Main streets to protect wa.j.j school children-It children-It was the deoision of the club that the city be asked to furnish i traffic officer for Main and Center 'streets mornings, noons and afternoons, after-noons, and that the city ask the assistance as-sistance of the state patrol department depart-ment to slow down traffic to a reasonable reas-onable speed through Main street. Former district governor Leo Hanson Han-son of Lehi discussed the relation-ship relation-ship of the district governor to the clubs-Musical clubs-Musical entertainment was provided pro-vided by students of the training school, consisting of two numbers by a boys trio, two numbers by a ; group of girls and a gypsy solo dance- The Civic Welfare committee or the club, headed by A. W. Clyde, is in charge of the next luncheon meeting. |
