Show I o "AIR HOSTESS" IS LATEST ROMANTIC PICTURE Columbia presents a brand new type of heroine in "Air Hostess" at the Alhambra Theatre glorifying one of those charming, adventurous, modern misses, who has the romantic roman-tic job of flying the great transcontinental transcon-tinental planes for a living. Evalyn Knapp brings this role to the screen, and her leading man is James Murray, the manly looking young actor who made a memorable debut in "The Crowd" several years ago. Others in the picture are Thelma Thel-ma Todd, Arthur Pierson, J. M. Kerrigan, Jane Darwell, Mike Donlin and Dutch Hendrian. There are only thirty-five air hostesses in the country but for those jobs more than 25,000 applications applica-tions were received from air minded girls all over the United States. The air hostess is really the stewardess stew-ardess and conductor at the same time, of the huge passenger planes, which soar majestically over mountains moun-tains and plains with their precious human cargo. The pilot and his assistant as-sistant have charge of the flying of the ship, but the air hostess has all the contacts with the passengers once the ship takes off. |
