Show Open house planned for Verl, Helen Kofford High School. She is well known for her involvement in music groups for many years in the Orem-Provo area, including Florence Madsen's Singing Mothers and as lead soprano so-prano in several musicals. She currently teaches piano and is an avid water color and oil painter and loves to travel. j The couple has f0,,. Kofford of American Fork will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary this week. An open house will honor them Saturday, April 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the American Fork 25th Ward Building, 445 E. 300 North, American Fork. The event is open to all friends and relatives. They request no gifts. Verl and Helen were married April 3, 1939, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Verl was born in Provo, Utah, attended schools in Orem. For many years he owned and operated Verl's Sinclair Service on 4th North and State Street in Orem. In 1963, they moved to Kanab where they owned and operated the Sun and Sand Motel until their retirement. Verl enjoys gardening and his grandchildren. Helen was born in Tropic, Utah.
