Show Odyssey contest Frida: The State Odyssey of the Mind competition will be held at Orem High School on Friday, April 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. More than 200 students from all parts of Utah will participate, according ac-cording to Mrs. Melinda Sherrell, state director of the competition and principal of Shelley Elementary Elemen-tary in American Fork. The public is invited to join parents and teachers of the students stu-dents at the competition, which is designed to foster creativity and problem solving among this nation's school age children. Mrs. Sherrell said Odyssey of the Mind is an international program pro-gram which now involves some 250,000 student participants. "This is an annual, international, interna-tional, creative problem-solving competition among students in kindergarten through high school," she said. "The purpose is to foster the development of creative thinking and creative problem-solving skills among young people.
