The pageant has a cast of over 500 youth and children, and is produced by Merrill Osmond. Conrad Dunn is the musical director. The pageant depicts the journey of the Mormon pioneers from their homes in Nauvoo, 111. to the Great Salt Lake Valley, and the set-tlement of the valley. The pageant includes drama, singing, dancing, an orchestra, and one of the largest displays of fireworks and pyrotechnics in the western United States. Last year, over 14,000 people attended the inaugural pageant. For this reason, the pageant has ex-panded to two nights to be held in Draper. Several North Utah County youths participated in the orchestra and chorus. Chorus rehearsals will be held July 5 and July 18-1- Rehear-sals will be held at either the Osmond Studios in Orem, or the Utah Pageant of the Arts Center in American Fork. These rehearsals will be held daily for one to one and one-ha- lf hours in the morning. Participants will also need to attend two dress rehearsals in Draper on July 20 and 21. Also, anyone interested in par-ticipating in the orchestra must have at least four years' experience on their instrument. Select wood-winds, brass and strings will par-ticipate.
