Show Grovecrest students hear artists during annual cultural arts week j By KALYN SECRETAN i "The world needs- performing 0 artists, our spirits need to be fed oo," noted Marvin Payne who addressed and offered original musical selections to Grovecrest stents as part of Cultural Arts week. He told the students, Wr imagination is the doorway :'u your spirit." Payne, a playwright and songwriter is known for the "Planemaker" he wrote and produced. It recently had a six week run at the "Backstage Cafe." He played the lead in "Charlie's Monument." He currently has several tapes out on the dramatization of the "Book of Mormon." Titled the "Wonderful World of Gold," it is produced especially for children. Other events happening for Cultural Arts Week have featured Dr. Quin Hatch throwing pottery, an Electric Show by Dr. McArthur from BYU and a school talent show. One day the students came to school dressed as their favorite story book person. |
