Show Zap show a unique experience for everyone at planetarium By SHARON MORREY The Zap Show currently playing at the Hansen Planetarium in Salt Lake City is a unique experience, one you might like to catch. But come prepared for noise, bright lights and comedy. The Zap Show is all of these. Dr. FrankinZap has created a man out of spare television parts and he wants to know just what the creation can do. He's curious about the effect electricity may have on him and he proceeds to experiment as much as "Fritz" will allow. The interaction between FrankinZap and Fritz is en-, tertaining. The acting is very good. I enjoyed the play. And its an educational experience. You can't help but learn something about electricity. There are several special effects that are astounding. The audience participates in one such effect, holding up fluorescent tubes that light without connection. There are some things to know about the Zap Show. Tickets are $4.50 per adult (anyone over 11) and $2 per child. Children under five are not permitted. They wouldn't like it anyway. The high voltage electricity is very loud and somewhat scary, even for adults. People with hearing aids and pace-maker type devices are discouraged from attending. Showtime is approximately every hour on the hour and the arena fills up quickly. The Hansen Planetarium on located on South State Street - the building with the globe water fountain in front. 1 Plan to get there a little early if you want a seat. |
