Phelps Viola Huntsman Russell Edward Ayers, 74, died Jan. 4, 1987 in American Fork He was born April 24, 1912 in St. Louis, Mo., to Walker Mack and Anna Mary Pieper Ayers. He married Edna Bertha Patterson Sept. 24, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He Was an active member of the American Fork 13th Ward. He was active in MIA and in dance and drama in St. Louis and AHenis survived by his wife of American Fork; and two four sons daughters: Mrs. David (Anna) Thackeray George Ayers, Russe Ayers II, all of Salt Lake; Walker Ayers, David Ayers, Eudora Ayers, all of American Fork; six grandc-hildren; one brother, two sisters: Walker Peter Ayers, Mrs. Rosa Tanner, Mrs. Lam. She was born in Lehi Sept. 28, 1931, to Tarvel and Omella Padfield Laursen. She married Max C. Phelps March 28, 1952, in Las Vegas, Nev. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She is survived by her husband, Riverton, Utah; children, Mrs. Gary M. (Sandra) Anderson; Ron and Kaylene; five grand-children; brother Thomas Laursen; sisters Virginia War-nic- Rugh Petersen and Norma Privett. She was preceded in death by a son, Sherll, and a brother, Everett. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jam 8 at 11 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 South State Street where friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday prior to services. In-terment will be at the Riverton citv Cemetery. f J . - ..i-fij- i I, Ross C. West Viola Miller Hunt-sman, 84, of Orem, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 1987 in American Fork of causes incident to age. She was born Oct. 12, 1902, in Omaha, Neb., a daughter of George and Eleanor Backus Miller. She married James D. Huntsman Feb. 1, 1920, in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Dec. 26, 1982. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She also was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and a dedicated mother and homsmaker. She is survived by Pead, Orem; Joanne H. Logie, Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Roy Miller, Bountiful; Mrs. C. Albert (Pearl) Howell, Draper. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, at noon on the Orem 16th Ward LDS Chapel, 641 S. 400 East. Friends may call Wednesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpi- n Mortuary, 495 S. West, 81, Pleasant Grove, died Jan. 5, 1987 at his home. He was born Feb. 23, 1905 in Pleasant Grove, to David Waldimer and Vilate Adams West, in a home where Norton's Market now sits. He married Edith Jacklin Oct. 16, 1939 in Heber City. He attended schools in Pleasant Grove, graduating from Pleasant Grove High School. He was a member of the LDS Church. He had been a farmer and peddler throughout his lifetime, traveling with his father at the age of nine to Bingham Canyon to sell their berries and other fruits. He has sold fruit throughout Utah, especially in Box Elder American Fork; Bert West, West Valley City; Harvard West, Red-wood City, Calif.; Mrs. Earl (Ruby) Hawkins, Provo; Mrs. Clarence (LaVerda) Hurst, Salt Lake City; Mrs. William (Madge) Tatum, Fresno, Calif.; Mrs. Wells (Nellie) Sanders, Douglas, Ariz. He was preceded in death by four children: Robert West, Roland West, Rex West and Adela W. Harvey. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove, where friends may call Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. or Friday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. County and recently to the students at BYU. He was an active member of the Pleasant Grove Senior Citizens. He is survived by his wife of Pleasant Grove; a son, Royal J. West, Lake Geneva, Wise; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters: Byron West, fit , 9'' 'PiL i Mary Jane de St. Jeor Gordon, 85, died Dec. 5, 1986, in Lehi nursing home following a heart attack. She was born Jan. 1, 1902, in Lehi, the daughter of Charles and Alice Maud Bradder de St. Jeor. She married James Hartshorn April 14, 1920. He died March 25, 1936. She married Andrew Losee March 21, 1941. He died Dec. 4, 1958. She married Frank Barnes Jan. 1, 1960. He died April 1, 1964. She married James Allen Jan. 18, 1965. He died Jan. 15, 1975. She married James Gordon Dec. 4, 1975. He died June 10, 1986. She was a nurse by occupation, and worked 18 years at the Lehi hospital. She was a member of the City; Ralph and wife Calra Hartshorn, Boise, Idaho; Evelyn and husband Richard Brown, Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Wanda Holt, South Jordan; two step-sons, Rex Losee, Lehi, and Ferril Losee, California; 19 grand-children; 40 great grandchildren; and one brother, Charles E. de St. Jeor, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by one son, David, and one son-in-la- Keith Holt. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, 118 E. Main, Lehi, where friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery. Daughters of the Utah Thelma G. Buckwalter Pioneers and was active in the LDS Church, serving in all the auxiliaries of the church. Survivors include three sons and two daughters, James and wife Dorothy Hart-shorn, St. George; Melvin and wife Jesse Hartshorn, Salt Lake Thelma Gardner Buckwalter, 79, of Provo, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1986 of natural causes. She was born Dec. 22, 1908 in American Fork to Thomas Albert and Ida Kelly Gardner. She married Morris Binns Buckwalter May 15, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Feb. 5, 1963. . She attended high school in Aberdeen, Idaho and eastern Utah and graduated from LDS High School in Salt Lake. She graduated with a Teachers Ce-rtificate from the University of Utah. She attended the McCune School of Music. She studied voice under Anthony Lund and G. Homer Durham, and piano from Tracy Cannon. She sang solos over KSL Radio as representative of the McCune School and taught piano. Until recently she belonged to the- Florence Madsen Memorial Chorus. She was a member of the Provo 3rd Ward and served in Primary, Gleaners and Relief Society. She worked in the state, county and local PTA organizations in LaGrande, Ore. for 20 years. Survivors include four sons and two daughters: Mrs. Lyle (Dolores) Banton and Morris Buckwalter, Jr., both Portland, Ore. ; Ray Buckwalter, Las Vegas, Nev.; Doyle Buckwalter, Orem; Mrs. Bill (Adele) Blackburn, Bend, Ore.; Briant Buckwalter, Diamond Bar, Calif.; 25 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, one sister: Glen Gardner, Phoenix, Ariz.; Fern Turner, Provo. Services were held Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Provo 3rd Ward. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery.
