Show Sophs win eight team tournament Coach Bruce Bushnell's sophomore basketball team won an eight team sophomore tourney during the recent Christmas vacation. Playing at American Fork High School the first two nights, PG beat Viewmont and Spanish Fork to " advance tnfo ' the championship game. That game was played in the Salt Palace as a preliminary contest con-test to the Jazz-76er NBA game Friday, Jan. 2. The Vikes defeated American Fork to win the championship, plus they received a T-shirt and a free ticket to the Jazz game that followed. PCs Jeff Swenson was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament. W ' jf ! Greg Grothe passes the ball in the junior varsity game against Mountain View last week. The basketball team makes the long trip out to Vernal tomorrow night to open Region 8 play. PG will host Payson on Wednesday, Jan. I 14, in the first home Region 8 game. |
