Show Political signs not allowed on right-of-way Exuberant political volunteers and workers are reminded that you may not place signs anywhere within the right-of-way of any public road. This would include all Federal and State highways, county roads and city streets. Utah law prohibits advertising signs within the right-of-way of all public roads. This means that signs cannot be placed on poles, fences, trees, existing official signs or on their own supports if they are legally within the right-of-way. Failure to heed this law will mean the loss of good signs because road crews have been instructed to remove and dispose of them as soon as they see them. UDOT asks all political organizations to familiarize themselves with these regulations. It is a terrible waste of tax dollars for. road crews to concern themselves them-selves with illegal signs. The destroyed signs cost money too, and could be put to much better use in legal areas. |
