Show Committee recommendations now available on SID payments The recommendations from the Water-Sewer Committee for the Special Improvement District planned to assist residents to pay for their sewer hookups are now available for review at the Pleasant Grove City Hall, 35 S. Main. The recommendations will be acted upon at the next City Council meeting which is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6. The meeting is postponed a day from the regular schedule because of the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The committee has recommended that the cost per linear foot frontage up to 150 feet should be $14. The committee said they based their decision on the most recent costs of installation of sewer lines and subtracted the grants which have been used to extend some sewer lines. Next summer the city council has gone on record indicating it will begin to enforce a city ordinance which states that anyone living within 200 feet of a sewer line who is not presently connected must do so. , Those who cannot physically hook on will be exempt from the ruling. The Special Improvement District was designed to give all tlmse who desired it, a way to pay for the sewer line installation over a 10 year period. Every property within the city limits which falls within the or-dinanace or-dinanace requirements will be asked to hook on. |
