Show r Obituaries Carol L. Goode Elmer Long Elmer Benson "Wormie" Long, 60, Pleasant Grove, died Dec. 20, 1984, at his home following an illness. He was born April 13, 1924 at Provo to Elmer Benson Sr. and Jessie Smith Long. He married Alice Grammar Gram-mar July 31, 1952 at Elko, Nev. He was employed as a truck driver. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife of Pleasant Grove; two sons and two daughters: Elmer B. Long III, Jerry Long and Mrs. Larry (Cindy) Stowe, all of Pleasant Grove; and Mrs. Troy (Pennie) Richins, Payson; eight grandchildren; grand-children; two brothers and two sisters: Max Long, Bill Long and Mrs. Alvin (Marie) Lewis, all Provo; Mrs. Floyd (Shirley) Eatough, Opel, Wyo. Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 24, at Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. parents of American Fork; and one brother, Fred Hunter, St. George. Services were Monday, Dec. 24, at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, American Fork. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. Carol Lynn Hunter Goode, 37, died Thursday, Thur-sday, Dec. 20, 1984, at 1 American Fork. She was born Jan. 28, 1947, at American Fork to Ralph and Wanda Larraine Hatcher Hunter. She married Kay W. Goode March 18, 1966 at American Fork. Six' was ;i member of the American Quarter Horse and App;iloosa associations. She was a former rodeo queen and achieved national and local recognition for her winnings at horse showings. She is survived by her husband; one son, Rusty Goode, Lehi ; her and Mrs. Craig (Kathleen) Buckner, both Lehi; Robert Daly, Layton. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Daly, in 1980. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. in the Lehi 8th Ward Chapel, 892 N. 700 East. Friends may call Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wing Mortuary and Saturday at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery. Iverson A , f I Katherine "Kate" O'Rourke Smuin, 87, Lehi, died of causes incident to age Friday, Dec. 21, 1984, at an American Fork care center. She was born Aug. 5, 1897, at Mercur, to John and Lilly May Newman O'Rourke. She married Jay B. Smuin Jan. 8, 1914, at Salt Lake City. He died June 23, 1939. She worked at the old Lehi hospital and later for Lehi City, serving two terms as treasurer- member of the LDS Church and a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Survivors include two sons: John "Jack" Smuin and J. Boyd Smuin, both Lehi ; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother: Thad Pannel, Holladay. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Wing Mortuary, Lehi. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery. She was an active member of the LDS Church, having served as a teacher, counselor and secretary in Sunday Sun-day School, Primary and Young Women's organizations. He was a graduate of American Fork High School and was an Eagle Scout. He is survived by his wife of Heber City; two sons, Jared Delane Smith and Robert Thomas Smith, both of Heber City; parents of Alpine; three brothers: Alan R. Smith, Littleton, Lit-tleton, Colo.; Dennis V. Smith, Highland; and Ronald L. Smith, Garden City, Kan.; and one sister, Mrs. Frank (Rayola) Hardman, Orem.
