Show Lindon turns to PG in 1984 for police service When the Lindon Police Chief quit last April the Lindon City Council investigated several proposals for police protection before they asked the Pleasant Grove Police Department to patrol their city as well. The new arrangement began the last day of May and Lindon officials report that it has worked out very well and they are pleased with the service. The police officers were sworn in as Lindon officers as well as Pleasant Grove. They patrol Lindon just as they do Pleasant Grove and were recently instrumental in arresting several men who are suspected of burglarizing businesses in the Industrial Park. Three new councilmen were sw orn in in January in Lindon. They were Dean Blackhurst, and Scott Cullimore while the third man, LeRoy Jacklin was an incumbent. A secretery at Lindon City Hall quit her job after a controversy with the city council about typing of minutes and making corrections to the minutes as approved by the council. An agreement was reached between bet-ween the secretary and the city after a grievance was filed. The annual Lindon Fair was held in September. Games, displays and giveaways were enjoyed along with the parade and entertainment throughout the day. Highlight of the day was the Arena events held in the evening. |
