Show Public notice to create special improvement district PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 5th day of April, 1983, the Mayor and City Council of Pleasant Grove, Utah County, Utah, adopted a resolution declaring its intention to create a special improvement district to be known as Pleasant Grove, Utah Special Improvement ! j District No. 83-1. It is the intention of the City Council to make improvements im-provements within said Special Improvement District and to levy special teaxes as i provided in Chapter 16, Title 10, Utah Code Annotated, (1953), as amended, on the real estate lying within said 1 District for the benefit of which such taxes are to be expanded in the making of such improvements. im-provements. Description of District The boundaries of the proposed Special Improvement Im-provement District shall be as identified on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A" which property is generally situated between 1100 North and 2600 North and between 1520 West and 150 East within Pleasant Grove City. Crestwood Boulevard Area: Crestwood Blvd. from 1800 North street to 2600 North street. Canyon Road Area: Canyon Road from 1100 North street to 2600 North street. SEWER LATERALS: The excavation for and installation of 4" sewer service laterals on both sides of the above streets (with the exception ex-ception of the south side only on 2600 North Street from 1300 West Street to Canyon Road). STREET REPAIR: Replacement of all existing asphalt and gravel damaged during sewer installation on the streets previously j :l 1 abutting upon the streets to be improved or upon property which may be affected or specifically benefited by such improvements. The property owners' portion of the total estimated cost of the improvements may be financed during the construction period by the use of interim warrants. The interest on said warrants will be assessed to the property owners. The estimated cost to be assessed against the properties within said District shall be as follows : Improvements & Estimated Cost Sewer mains, 13.00 per front foot; sewer laterals, 300.00 for each lateral; curb & gutter replacement, 7.50 per front foot; street repair, 1.50 per square foot (paving width varies from street to street within the District. Property owners will be assessed based upon the total front feet x V2 the width of the street repair); sidewalk replacement, 6.90 per front foot. Assessments and Levy of Taxes It is the intention of the City Council of Pleasant Grove City, Utah to levy assessments as provided by the laws of Utah on all parcels and lots of real property within the District. The purpose of the assessment and levy is to pay those costs of the subject improvements which the Municipality will not assume and pay. The method of assessment is as set forth above The assessments may be paid by property owners ; in ten (10) annual ; installments with interest on the unpaid balance at a rate or rates fixed by the City Council, or the whole or any part of the assessment may be paid without interest within fifteen (15) days after the ordinance levying the assessment becomes effective. The assessments shall be levied i,jcording to the benefits to be derived by each property within the District. Other payment provisions and enforcement remedies shall be in accordance with Chapter 16 of Title 10 of Utah Code Annotated,: An-notated,: (1953), as amended. A map of the proposed District, copies of plans, profiles and specifications of the proposed improvements and other related information in-formation are on file in the office of the City Recorder who will make such information available- to all interested in-terested persons. Time for Filing Protests Any person who is the owner- of record of property to be assessed in the , Special Improvement Im-provement District described in this Notice of Intention shall have the right to file in writing" a protest against the creation of Special Improvement District No. 83-1 or to make any other ob-jections ob-jections relating thereto. Protests shall describe or otherwise identify .the property record by the person or persons making the protest. Protests shall be filed with the City Recorder of Pleasant Grove City, Utah, on or before 5:00 p.m. on the 3rd day of May, 1983. Thereafter at 6:30 p.m. on the 3rd day of May, 1983, the City Council will meet in public meeting at the City Council Chambers to consider all protests so filed and hear all objections ob-jections relating to the proposed Special Improvement Im-provement District No. 83-1. Intended Improvements The improvements to be constructed within said Special Improvement Im-provement District No. 83-1 in general include the following: 1. Sewer Mains: Excavate and install sewer main lines to serve homes now on septic tanks and prcvide lines for new homes. 2. Sewer Laterals: Excavate and install sewer laterals to connect existing septic tank systems to new sewer mains. 3. Street Repair: The replacement of all existing asphalt and gravel damaged during the sewer installation.
