JOYCE PERELLI OSCAR DAVIS 'Music Express to perform Monday in Lindon amphitheater The Music Express, featuring professional performances by young people, is giving their annual summer concert, Friday, July 8 at 7 p.m. at the Lindon Amphi-t- h eater located behind lindon Elementary School on 30 N. Center, Lindon. The group, featuring children ages 4 from Utah and Salt Lake Counties, has been established for two years. They have performed at the Utah State Fair, Dickens Festival, Freedom Festival, (remember the TRAIN in the parade) and other sundry programs. The group has become a favorite in our state and is easily recognized by their purple and red engineer outfits complete with hats. Their directors, also sisters, are Christine M. Papworth and Kari M. Ostler. Both have been performers themselves since childhood and are trained professionals in both vocal and dance instruction. It is their wish to give the same opportunity to perform to "their" kids as Chris and Kari had when they were young. The group is planning a tour to Disneyland next summer and is accepting new auditions for fall season. We are sure all who come will enjoy the varied talents of the soloists and special groups, interspersed with chorus numbers. Make it a point to attend Friday, July 8th. 7:00 p.m. For more information call 225-304- 1 or 225-132- " f T '"-"'- ft . ' iS--i PT ' ' I'u-- 1 . . : ; I , fe-"-""- '! N I , v , . I DOUG BEZZANT and his crew lay sod at Kiwanis Park as part of the improvement project at the site. A pavilion has also been built over the picnic tables. New sod laid by Pleasant Grove city crews in Kiwanis Park improvement project City crews under the direction of Doug Bezzant of the Pleasant Grove Parks Dept. last week placed sod in Kiwanis Park located at the east end of 200 South in Pleasant Grove. Doug said the laying of the sod was part of a larger project of , improvements at the park. The picnic tables are new shaded with a large pavilion which covers the area. This roof was installed through the efforts of the Kiwanis Club. A sprinkling system has been installed, the area leveled and cleaned, and underbrush removed. Fire pits are also being prepared. More extensive clearing of the area is planned and it is hoped that restrooms may be installed in the near future. The former restrooms were destroyed by vandals. Doug suggested that citizens drive up and see how nice the Kiwanis Park now is and use it for family outings. Being adjacent to the mountain and the Battlecreek and "G" trails places the park in the unique setting. Donnell B. Pead completes Air Fen basic training Airman Donnell B.
