Survivors include his parents of Pleasant Grove; six brothers and three sisters, Dardree Smith, Daryn Smith, Rosanne Smith, Devyn Smith, Jeremy Smith, Christopher Smith, Ashley Smith, Day-mo- n Smith and Danielle Smith, all of Pleasant Grove; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde A. Smith, Ammon, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Marion Gren, Orem; Ijena Johnson, Salt Lake City; E.M. Jolley, Provo. Services were held Tuesday. June 14, at 1 1 a.m. in the Manila l'rst Ward Chapel under the direction of Bishop John W. I jnehaugh. Pallbearers were Daryn Smith, Devyn Smith, Jeremy Smith, Christopher Smith, Ashley Smith, Day-mo- n Smith. The family prayer was by Ieon Smith. The prelude and postlude were played by Age Iratt. The invocation was by Marion Gren. were given by Bishop John 1 jnebaugh. A speaker was Daviil C. Harvey followed by a musical selection, "I jet the little Children Come" by Jonell Ijiwrence and Julie Ferguson accompanied by Stephan Iiwrence. Speakers were Dennis Smith and Glade Johnson. "I Am a Child of God" was sung by the Manila First Ward Youth Choir directed by Andrew Lloyd accom-panied by Ellen Lloyd. The benediction was by Kyle Warnick. Dedication of the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was by Clyde A. Smith. PLEASANT GROVE lx-n- May Riley Holsinger, 90, of Pleasant Grove, died Thursday, June 9, 198:1 in her home. She was born March 29, 189.'!, in Beattic, Kansas, to Benjamin David and Perlina N. Powell Riley. She married Karl William Ix-uz- e on June 12, 191(5, in Salx-tha- , Kansas. He died Sept. 28, 1942. She married Howard H. Miller on April 27, 1945 in San Francisco. He died Oct. 2, 1952. She married Rev. Elmer Holsinger on Feb. 14, 19(50 in San Francisco. He died March 25, 1971. She was a recent convert to the LDS Church, living in the Pleasant Grove 11th Ward. Survivors include one son and one daughter, Iawrence Iieuze, Lindon; Mrs. Wilber (Wilma) Meyers, Red Bluff, Calif.; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three stepdaughters and six stepsons, Grace Pike; Mertie Hill; Merele Holsinger; Kenneth Holsinger, Paul Holsinger, Al Holsinger, Irving Holsinger, Elmer Holsinger; Edgar Holsinger. Services were held Saturday, June 11, 198.'! at 1 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mor-tuary Chapel under the dirwtion of Bishop Ralph Phillips of the Pleasant Grove 11th Ward. Pallbearers were Wilbur Myers, Kevin Ijeue, Dennis Davis, Dennis Thompson, John Hilton and Jack Alexander. The family prayer was by Kevin Ieu.e. The prelude and postlude were played by Colleen Starr. The welcome was by Bishop Phillips and the invocation by John Hilton. The life sketch was given by Deborah Schmidt, a grand-daughter. A song, "Love One Another," was sung by Christine Howe, Alice Myers, Gay Lynn Tucker and Richard Tucker with Anne Hill on the violin and Donna Keate at the piano. Dedication of the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was by S.W. Winters. SALT IAKE CITY -R-ichard L Walker, 84, a former long-ter-resident of I indon, died of cancer Thursday, June 9, 19a'! in a convalescent hospital in Orem. He was bom in Lindon on Sept. 8, 1898 to John Y. and Chastina Holman Walker. He married Alberta McEwan on June 8, 1921 in the Salt LDS Temple. They later were divorced. He married Viola G. Harris in 195.'!. He attended school in the lindon, Pleasant Grove area. After serving an LDS Mission in the Northwestern states, he went into fanning and later owned and operated a service station in Lindon. He worked on the construction of Geneva Steel, after which he went to work at Dugway and Tooele until his retirement in 1965. Survivors include his wife of Orem; two sons and two daughters, Mrs. T. Ardie (Bea) Adams and Mrs. Brian (Ellen Dawn) Bezzant, both of Pleasant Grove; W. Mack Walker, Orem; Ivan M. Walker, Lindon; 21 grand-children; 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, three sisters, four brothers and one grandson. Funeral services were held Monday, June 13, at 11 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, under the direction of President Blain S. Gailey of the South Salt Iike Stake. Pallbearers were grandsons Cameron W. Adams, Edward Jon Adams, L. Paul Adams, Steven B. Walker, Michael I. Walker, Mark L. Walker, Bryee L. Walker, Bradley W. Walker, Kevin Jon Bezzant. Honorary pallbearers were Terry I). Bezzant and Brian Ron Bezzant. Mowers were cared for by the grand-daughters. The family prayer was by Ivan M. Walker, a son. The prelude and postlude were played by Karen Wall. The invocation was by Mark L. Walker, grandson. The life sketch was by another grandson, Edward Jon Adams. William E. Petersen sang "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine" accompanied by Karen Wall. A speaker was Grant R. Walker. A violin solo was performed by Mable Walker, "The Hills of Home" accompanied by Karen Wall. Remarks were by President Gailey. William E. Petersen sang "Going Home" accompanied by Karen Wall. The benediction was by Kevin Jon Bezzant, grandson. The grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by Patriarch T. Ardie Adams, a son-in-la- Alma Sheldon Hammett Alma Sheldon Hammett, 73, of Salt Lake City, died June 7, 1983, in a local hospital. He was born December 4, 1909, in Alpine, Utah, to David Alma and Esther Lucella Healey Ham mett. He married Rhea Taggart on October 3, 1936, in Salt Lake City. He had been employed by the Lang Company and Arnold Machinery. He was a member of the LDS Church. He was also a member of the Forty-Niner- s Club. Survivors include: his wife, Salt Lake City; a brother, Vaughn Hammett, Alpine, Utah; Marjorie American Fork; Mrs. Frank C. (Louise) Austin, Lehi, Utah; Mrs. Jim (Joyce) Freeze, Murray, Utah; and Mrs. Warren (Chelta) Jackson, Sandy, Utah. Funeral services were held Friday at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel. Famnily prayer was given by Vaughn Hammett. Bishop John W. Granda conducted the service. John Jacobs offered the opening prayer. Speakers were Bob Arnold. Bishop Dean Anderson and Bishop John W. Granda. Thayne Bateman performed musical selections. Bill Tanner gave the closing prayer and John Jensen dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Lionell Austin, Lowell Austin, Phil Hammett, David Alldredge, Doug Alldredge and Harley Jacobs. Rose Elizabeth Parsons ROSE PARSONS Rose Elizabeth Kauf-man Hight Parsons, 81, died June 10, 1983 in the American Fork Hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1901, in Leadville, Cold., to " Fred and Katherine Owens Kaufman. She married Hunter D. Hight June 1924inSalida,Colo.He died. She then married Kelly H. Parsons May 1943. He died December 1968. She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Hunter D. Hight, American Fork; Richard A. Hight, Saudi Arabia; Mrs. Charles (Beulah) Pipher, Orem; 19 grandchildren; 37 great gandchildren; five step children; one sister, Mrs. Mary Patano, Salida, Colo. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the American Fork 25th LDS Ward Chapel.
