Show Diet Center Opens Branch, Offers Classes Today is the grand opening of the new Diet Center in Pleasant Grove, where diet counselor Carroll Edwards says you can learn to readjust your lifestyle and permanently keep the dial on your home scales below the red line. "There's no way you can help but lose if you stay on the program," says Carroll, who participated in weight-loss classes herself at the American Fork Diet Center - with great success. She will be teaching a nutrition class once a week, and she'll be at the Center every day to provide individualized daily counseling to each participant. She says the most important aspect of the Diet Centers - advertised in many national magazines, including Reader's Digest, Self and Family Circle --is --is the emphasis on keeping slim by learning a sensible way of life rather than by periodically going on a crash diet. "My doctor approved the program," Carroll said. "He doesn't think it's a diet but a good way to live." As a diet counselor, Carroll will conduct classes in weight loss every Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. to help men and women change their eating habits. Then daily, she'll work with each participant on an individual basis - beginning with a weigh-in. She believes in the program. During her own participation in American Fork, she said, "I lost 60 pounds in five months. Anybody can do it if I can." Participants who stay with the program can lose 17 to 25 pounds in six weeks, she added. "Women average about 3 and a half pounds a week and men about a pound a day," she said. The new Pleasant Grove Diet Center is located at 280 South Main, room 10 (downstairs). Interested persons are urged to call for an appointment and a free consultation. One may call either Center - the PG number is 785-3229 - or call 768-3544. Owner Mary Asay said an identical program is offered at the American Fork Diet Center. Her classes are held Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. . , , , ' " ; . :v ' ; i ; A , 1 ' I if":- ' ; :.: .... j .. -, ; ; CARROLL EDWARDS |
