Show G. Albert Spencers Back From Trip to Mexico they help tourists they only charge for the parts, their wages are paid by the government. Mexico City is a very beautiful city and there are many interesting things to see there. The Spencers spent five days there but still didnt see nearly all the interesting in-teresting thing that are there. The subway in Mexico City was a real thrill to ride on. It far surpasses the ones in New York and Chicago, the Spencers have ridden rid-den on. Mr. Spencer says he will admit that the language difference was a problem many times but with a little sign language and a Spanish English dictionary dic-tionary they managed. Gasoling in Mexico is less than half the price it is in the states. That helped out on the expenses. ex-penses. The parking fee in the trailer courts is less than here at home also. Some of the food items were a lot less than in the states especially a lot of their local fruit. The Spencers say they really enjoyed traveling through the areas where they raised bananas, pineapple, oranges, tangerines, and other types of fruits that could be purchased quite cheap. Mr. Spencer says they took advantage of this because they like to eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Mr. and Mrs. G. Albert Spencer just returned from a 2 month 8000 mile trip down into Mexico. They traveled with a pickup truck and a travel trailer. They report a very interesting and enjoyable trip. The main purpose of the trip was to see some of the ruins left in that country by the Book of Mormon people who lived there''' many years ago. The Spencers report that it was most impressive im-pressive and interesting to actually see and climb around on many of the ruins. They especilaly noted how well located many of the ruins were on high ground with beautiful farm land all around them. The stone work on many were of very high grade that has stood in' good condition for many years. Traveling in Mexico is not quite the same as in the states because the roads are a long way from meeting our standards. In spite of the roads practically every trailer court was filled with all kinds of American and Canadian trailers and motor homes. The Spencers traveled travel-ed by themselves but ran into a number of large groups traveling as a group. One area there were in a group of one hundred and fifty air stream trailers pulling pull-ing into the trailer court. The Mexican people are very friendly and helpful to the tourists. One thing that they do is have a large fleet of pick up truck with tool beds on them, they patrol the main roads every day to help tourists that might have trouble. The trucks have two mechanics who speak English, they are called the Greek Angels, they carry a few stan-dart stan-dart parts and when |
