Show Martin Monson Will Be New Science Teacher Martin Monson will be the new science teacher at Pleasant Grove High School next year. He will be teaching zoology, physics and chemistry to the Viking students. Mr. Monson is well qualified for the position. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, served an LDS Mission to London, Lon-don, and graduated from Brigham Young University in bacteriology. bac-teriology. For the past six year he has taught at Orem High School. He is currently working on a masters degree at the University of Utah. The science students at Orem have had much success under Mr. Monson 's tutelage. He has had winners in Science Sterling Scholars, five out of six proximately 85 success suc-cess ration of the Advance Ad-vance Placement of Biology and Advance Placement of Chemistry tests for college credit; and second place on the Young American competition com-petition sponsored by KSL and the Deseret News. Mr. Monson said his goal was, "to supplement sup-plement the fine teaching now going on at PGHS, provide greater recognition to students who show academic excellence, ex-cellence, and enhance the current science program in chemistry, physics and biology." Martin is married to the former Merilee Ewell of Pleasant Grove. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Monson, are also of Pleasant Grove.
