Show Timpanogos Stake Sets Conference Mar. 24, 25 Elder Robert L. Backman, a member of the first Quorum of the Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will preside at the Timpanogos Stake Conference March Mar-ch 24th and 25th. The conference will consist of four meetings according to Stake President David C. Harvey. The first meeting will convene at the Stakehouse at 4 p.m. Saturday. It will comprise a leadership meeting. Those invited are all Melchizedek Priesthood leaders, Stake Presidency, Presiden-cy, High Council, Bishoprics, and Executive secretaries. The first general session will convene con-vene at the Stake House at 7 p.m Saturday. All stake members 16 years old and over are invited as are visitors. The second Leadership Meeting will begin 7 a.m. Sunday Morning in the Stake House Relief Society Room. Those attending will be the Stake Presidency, Bishops, and the High Council. The second general session of the conference will begn at 10 a.m. in the Stake House. All stake members and visitors are invited. Overflow crowds will meet in the 6th 11th ward chapel, 700 East 500 North. Theme for the conference is: "Follow Me and do the things ye have seen Me do" 2 Nephi 31:12. A Junior sesson will be conducted during the second general session, Sunday morning in the Jr. Sunday School area of the Stake house. Elder Robert Legrand Backman has been a members of the first Quorum of the Seventy since April Elder Robert LeGrand Backman 1, 1978. At the time of his call he was a member of Backman, Clark and March, a Salt Lake City law firm. Elder Backman has served his church as Regional Representative, YMMIA Board member, President of the Northwestern States Mission, Stake Presidency, Ward Bishopric, and temple worker. He served two terms in the Utah House of representatives. He married Virginia Pickett of Salt Lake City on July 5, 1941 and they are parents of seven daughters. |
