Show aw" FLOOR PLAY Kim Walker's fine floor play and shooting helped the Jayvee to two wins last week over Cedar City and Payson. Viking Jayvee's Beat Cedar City and Payson by Jeff Jackson After being outscored 20-6 in the first quarter the J.V. team shook off the blaws to come back and down the Cedar City Redmen 79-51, 79-51, January 18, at the P.G. high school. The Redmen totally dominated the first quarter by out scoring the Vikes 20-6 but PG came back in the second quarter to outscore the Redmen 27-4 and take a 9 point lead in to the locker room at half time. They continued there hot streak into the third and fourth quarter.; with guards Kim Walker (who had 9 points) and Wayne Whitely ( with 11) feeding the ball to center cen-ter Kevin Ash won con trolled the boards and came up with an impressive im-pressive 25 points. Foreward Kelly Memmott also had a good game with 8 points, poin-ts, all in the fourth quarter. J.V. Edges Payson After having a good day against the Red-men, Red-men, shooting 58 from the field, they had a bad day against the Payson Lions shooting only 39 from the field, however, P.G. managed to come up with the win, 41-37, in a close hard fought ball game. The team played good defense throughout the game. The Vikes won by four points after Kim Walker stole the ball passed to Justen Bone who made a three point play. |
