Show Vikings Lose to Timpview Last Wednesday by Guy Madsen After falling behind by 27points the Vikings showed their intensity and put two scores on the board in less than threeminutes of the fourth quarter but lost to the host Timpview Timp-view Thunderbirds, 27-14 last Wednesday. The Vikes drove right down the field with Mike Fryer punching out yardage but an interception in-terception ended the drive on the T-bird 30. Timpview then dominated until the last 3 minutes of the game, but the vikes wouldn't give up as they moved the ball but just couldn't score. The T-Birds led 13-0 at half and then scored once in each of the last two quarters but the Vikes just wouldn't give up and showed their heart in the last quarter. The vikes marched down and scored from three yards out as Jimmy Jim-my Moore bulled his way in. Jeff Jackson score the two points and the Vikes still were not finished. Mike Fryer put on a nice kicking show as he kicked a perfect onside kick and Ric Levin PASS PROTECTION Brad Baxter (55) and Mike Fryer (36) block as Barry Laga (12) passes in TimpView game. Vikes close season next week by hosting Springvile at 3 p.m. on local field. recovered it. The Vikes marched down again with Barry Laga pas;sing to Justin Bone for big gains and Mike Fryer pushed his way in from the one. The next on-side-kick was also successful as Levin scooped it up again but time ran out before the Vikes could start their drive. The Vikes play tonight at Carbon at 7:30 and the story will be in next weeks paper. On Wed. Oct 24th the Vikes play their season closer at home against Springville. The Vikes would appreciate a big crowd for 3 p.m. kick off. |
