Show Conference Report Given "Do we truly recognize ourselves as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Lat-ter Days Saints? was the question asked by Elder Stanley G. Smith, Regional Representative, Represen-tative, at the Tim-panogos Tim-panogos Stake Conference Con-ference Sunday morning. morn-ing. Elder Smith said, "We must take upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ and try to do His will. We must try to do those things which he did when He was upon the earth." Stake President David C. Harvey opened the 10 a.m. meeting with the message, "parents, teach your children the Gospel of Jesus Christ in your homes." President Harvey stressed the importance impor-tance of scouting in the Aaronic Priesthood program. pro-gram. Marianne Holman, PGHS Seminary officer told the audience, "Seminary is a spiritual feeling. It has taught me many valuable lessons." Ray D. Pollman stressed prepardness. He said, "Renewed interest in-terest in his priesthood should be the first item in prepardness. President Fredrick R. Shoell offered an admonition, ad-monition, "when ypu are called to be an adviser ad-viser will you magnify that calling before the Lord." Rosalie Jacklin, Fourth Ward Relief Society President said, "If we can rear our children in a positive way in the gospel of Jesus Christ, we will give them the best possible service." Taking the "Parable of the Virgins" as his text, President Grant Fugal told the conference, con-ference, "We ought to take heed; we ought to be prepared for any eventuality; but we ought to be prepared for the "Wedding Feast." Congregational singing sing-ing was led by Ida Mae Christiansen with Eva West, accompanist. Special music was furnished fur-nished by the Manila First Ward Choir. Necia Doty was the director and Christine Warnick the accompanist. |
