Show ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE No. ACT 049-007 BEFORE THE BOARD OF OIL, GAS, AND MINING DEPARTMENT DEPART-MENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, in and for the State of Utah IN THE MATTER OF THE APPROVAL OF THE NOTICE OF INTENT IN-TENT AND RECLAMATION PLAN SUBMITTED BY INTERSTATE IN-TERSTATE BRICK COMPANY. LONG CANYON MINE, UTAH COUNTY. THE STATE OF UTAH TO ALL OPERATORS, TAKERS OF PRODUCTION, MINERAL AND ROYALTY OWNERS, AND PARTICULARLY ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN-TERESTED IN TOWNSHIP TOWN-SHIP 7 SOUTH. RANGE 1 WEST. SLB&M, UTAH COUNTY, UTAH. Notice is hereby given that tentative approval was given by the Utah Division of Oil. Gas, and Mining to Interstate Brick Company, 9210 South 5200 West, West Jordan, Utah, to commence commen-ce Open Pit Clay mining operations on portions of Section 16, Township 7 South, Range 1 West, Utah County, Utah. The name of the mine is the Long Canyon Mine, and the person representing the company in this matter mat-ter is Mr. Robert L. Steele, 1075 North 400 East, Nephi, Utah. Interstate Brick Company Com-pany has fulfilled obligations under the Mined Land Reclamation Act of 1975 (Section 40-8, U.C.A., 1953, as amended) and will employ the following reclamation techniques. During Operations: 1. Existing gravel roads will be used and about 1000 feet of new road will be built. 2. Soil and vegetation will be removed from about 15 acres of new disturbance. 3. An open pit will be developed to remove the clay. 4. Clay will be stockpiled for removal to the brick plant. 5. The mine will be maintained in a condition which will not create a public hazard. After Operations: 1. All equipment, structures struc-tures and debris will be removed from the surface. 2. Disturbed areas will be regraded to the extent possible. 3. Stockpiled soil will be spread and scarified. 4. The disturbed areas will be reseeded. 5. Reclamation maintenance main-tenance will be provided by the operator until surety is released. Any person aggrieved by this tentative decision is hereby requested to submit written protest within 30 days of July 21, 1978, to the Division of Oil. Gas and Mining, 1588 West North Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84116, setting forth factual reasons for his complaint and thereafter, at a time and place heretobe established, appear before the Board of Oil, Gas. and Mining, to show cause, if any there be, why this plan should not be approved. ap-proved.
