Show CAMPAIGNS Jed Richardson visited around Pleasant Grove on Monday. Mark Bezzant showed him around and Dennis Green-looks on Richardson Visits P.G. Jed Richardson, Republican candidate can-didate for Congress was in Pleasant Grove campaigning against Gunn McKay Monday. Mr. Richardson is taking his campaign to the people and visited with a number of local residences Monday. "Everyone is concerned with inflation," in-flation," Mr. Richardson said. "Republicans have known about the problems of inflation for more than 20 years. Unfortunately, the one philosophy rule that has prevailed in Washington for 42 of the last 46 years has created this problem, and solutions will be difficult to implement. We must make every effort to start solving our economic problems now. President Carter's $501 billion budget for fiscal year 1979 is, in the words of House minority leader John Rhodes, '...A fiscal time bomb set to explode with destructive, inflationary force in years ahead.'" Richardson added, "Isupport a Constitutional amendment prohibiting deficit spending except in times of declared national emergencies emergen-cies and passage of the KEMP-ROTH KEMP-ROTH act, which cuts tax rates by 30 percent over the next three years to stimulate the economy. Both of these measures are necessary in order to get inflation under control." |
