" , J PINEWOOD DERBY Boys above, not identified, won various scout items in the Pinewood Derby held by the City Recreation Dept. recently. It is annual event. Pinenood Derby Held Recently Bill Hoglund, City Recreation Director would like to extend a hearty, thanks to Demont Hill, Sally Dalton and Linda Dodge and their respective Cub Scout organizations and Pell Young and Tom Trinnaman from the recreation department, who all helped make the event a fun time for the boys and their families. Cubs who are interested in racing their cars should plan toward another year, with the annual Pinewood Derby (city wife) being held during the latter part of March or early April each year. The Pleasant Grove City Recreation's Pinewood Derby was held last Saturday at the new Pleasant Grove Jr. High School Boys Gym. Prizes were awarded the first 9 places in the racing and winners win-ners were recognized in Styling, Originality and the Best Looking Car design. Winners and their prizes: Mike Turner (Scout Pocketknife); Randall Richards Rich-ards (Camping Light) & Brett Newman, ( Scout Eating Set), Jeff Hamner (Cub Scout Canteen); Can-teen); Jay Whatcott (Flashlight); Aaron Blackhur-st Blackhur-st (Flashlight); Shane Cob-bley Cob-bley (Flashlight); John Penrod (Scout Wallet Kit); and David Pratt (Carving ., set). ; Car Desiging Originality, Jason Carpenter Carpen-ter (Canteen); Styling, Gregg Warburton (Canteen) and Best Looking, John Penrod (Flashlight). |
