Show Battle Creek Camp DUP Holds Meeting on Friday, Dec. 9 The Battle Creek Camp D.U.P. met Fri, Dec 9th at the home of Mrs. Eva Proctor. President Wright welcomed the members and gave a report of the camp business. The group sang "Silent Night", prayer by Maymetta Johnson. Minutes and Roll call were given by Secretary Cora O. Bezzant. The Lesson Leader, Viola Cowley, presented an interesting in-teresting life history of John W. Hess, entitled "An Enduring En-during Legacy, " The Hess family lived in extreme poverty and had many problems with the mobs. She told of experiences they had while crossing the plains. . Mr. Hess had a large family and they had to depend on Divine help many times. He died in 1903. Sec. Cowley then told the story of the "First Christmas in St. George" as was written by Bro. George Cannon. Eva Proctor exhibited a number of albums with pictures, pic-tures, stories, and geneology she has collected of some of her relatives and friends. At the close of the lovely meeting and social, the hostess with the help of her daughter, June P. Robinson of American Fork, and Maymetta Maymet-ta Johnson served tasty refreshments to the 12 ladies present. |
